Grounded in Jakob von Uexküll’s concept of Umwelt, this experimental video captures a Joro spider(Trichonephila clavata) systematically purging alien white spheres from its web. As the web functions as the spider’s externalized sensory system, this biological act of removal is a literal defense of its perceived reality. Threads of Being distills this mechanism to reveal individual existence as a singular “phenomenon” emergent from the interplay between physical conditions and environmental constraints.
